Transforming Rolling Greens: A Powerful Collaboration with Eventique for Mercy For Animals’ 25th Anniversary Gala

On April 20, 2024, Power Plus Productions had the honor of collaborating with renowned New York-based event agency Eventique to produce a truly unforgettable evening in celebration of Mercy For Animals’ 25th Anniversary. Hosted at the stunning Rolling Greens in Downtown Los Angeles, this landmark gala brought together advocates, changemakers, and supporters dedicated to building a more compassionate world for animals.

Founded in 1999 by Milo Runkle, Mercy For Animals is an international nonprofit organization committed to preventing cruelty to farmed animals and promoting sustainable, compassionate food systems. Their work spans the globe—challenging industrial agriculture, aquaculture, and fishing practices, and advocating for policies that prioritize animal welfare and environmental responsibility.

The Challenge: A Blank Canvas with a Mission

Rolling Greens provided 20,000 square feet of indoor event space—but to reflect Mercy For Animals’ mission and create an atmosphere worthy of a silver anniversary celebration, the space needed a complete transformation. The design brief called for a modern, immersive environment that could host a meaningful awards ceremony, showcase plant-based innovation, and inspire philanthropic action.

The Solution: Concept to Reality, Together

In partnership with Eventique, Power Plus Productions set out to craft an environment that embodied the gala’s forward-thinking theme, The Future of Food. From initial ideation through final execution, our teams worked in seamless alignment to reimagine the venue. Custom lighting, scenic elements, dynamic audio-visual design, and strategic layout.

The result? An awe-inspiring space that evolved throughout the evening—from a moving ceremony space to a vibrant night market-inspired after-party beneath a canopy of stars. Every element—from digital projections to the flow of guest movement—was designed with intention and precision.

The Experience: A Night to Remember

Guests were treated to a powerful program celebrating trailblazers in animal protection, an extraordinary plant-based culinary experience, exciting auction items, and live entertainment—all within a venue that beautifully reflected the values of sustainability and compassion. The energy in the room was electric, and the transformation of the space left a lasting impression on attendees, both in-person and online.
