Power Plus Case Study – Outdoor Commencement Ceremony

Pacific Ridge School Graduation

 

One of our loyal clients, Pacific Ridge School, came to Power Plus for help producing their 2021 high school graduation ceremony. We were presented with the challenge of constructing an outdoor program while incorporating strict COVID-19 guidelines. In addition to the typical commencement program, Pacific Ridge has a tradition of including several live performances throughout their ceremony which would need additional AV consideration.

Unlike years past, the 2021 the ceremony moved from their indoor gym to the outdoor soccer field. Due to COVID-19 and CDC guidelines, students and attendees were all required to practice social distancing. To accommodate, our team built expansive risers for the graduates and a video wall large enough for guests to view from all vantage points on the field. Supported by a custom 30ft tall truss structure, the screen consisted of 112 of our ultra-bright outdoor LED tiles.

For those unable to attend in person, we also worked with the Pacific Ridge IT team to stream the ceremony live on the school’s own homepage. With multiple cameras in place, every student and performance was visible for all attendees, near and far…and at home!
