IT Specialist – Salt Lake City, UT

Role Description

The IT Specialist will work with the Operations Team and be responsible for setting up, managing, and troubleshooting the technology systems that Power Plus Productions uses to maintain computer and software networks. Their duties include responding to hardware problems, updating system software, and tracking the data and communications used on the network.

To be successful as an IT Specialist, the ideal candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of various computer hardware and software technologies. Top candidates will also have an aptitude for customer service and audiovisual knowledge.


  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

Skill Requirements

  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Strong MAC and PC Admin and troubleshooting skills
  • Windows Server experience


Recommended Certifications & Experience

  • CCNA
  • CompTIA Sec+ or equivalent
  • CompTIA Net+ or equivalent
  • Experience with Switches and Routers
  • Experience with Ubiquity Wi-Fi systems or similar
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems
  • Experience with CATV and CAT6 cable creation and cable management
  • Basic TCP/IP and Subnetting knowledge


Eligibility Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in IT
  • Experience with or knowledge of operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance-monitoring tools,
  • Advanced computer skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to keep company passwords and information confidential
  • Must be willing to work in Salt Lake City, UT
  • Must provide acceptable documents that establish both identity and employment authorization.
  • As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

Pay Range

  • $24-$35/hour based on experience
